The Grainger Engineering Office of the ADR offers comprehensive research development programming and support services to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary, cross-sector, and impactful research culture. Our staff and services complement the research administration professionals in departmental business offices and Engineering Shared Services, who provide business supports for all proposal submissions.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT
We provide numerous resources and services for writing winning proposals and obtaining other support through the process.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
We track funding opportunities to help researchers find external support for their work and assist faculty with matching to various external funding sources.

OFFICE OF THE ADR FUNDING
Our office administers multiple internal funding opportunities to help faculty get initial support for their ideas.

CORPORATE RELATIONS
Our team connects researchers with industry partners and coordinates corporate engagement across the college. We are dedicated to building strategic partnerships that support all stakeholders.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT FOR RESEARCH
We offer a variety of development opportunities for faculty. Our programs support new faculty, mid-career researchers, and emerging leaders across the college.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Our office provides part-time project management assignments (supported by grant funds) as needed for center start-up support.

Assistant Dean for Research, Dr. Laurel Passantino, is currently overseeing the Office of the Associate Dean for Research while the search for the next permanent Associate Dean for Research in The Grainger College of Engineering is underway. We have deep gratitude for Dr. Harley Johnson and Dr. Elyse Rosenbaum for the contributions in their previous Associate Dean for Research roles!
